Nicole Sim, O.D.
Dr. Nicole Sim attended UC Berkeley for her undergraduate degree in Molecular Cell Biology. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Vision Science. During her undergraduate studies she volunteered at Albany-Berkeley Optometry, working with Dr. Teresa Goldberg, who inspired her to pursue a career in optometry. Dr. Sim graduated from the UC Berkeley School of Optometry, receiving the Dean’s Award for her thesis.
Dr. Sim has diverse experience in the treatment of eye conditions and diseases. She was trained in various clinics such as a retinal specialty clinic, a low income trauma center and a vision training center for children. She has extensive experience in LASIK co-management, primary care optometry and dry eye treatment, along with other ocular diseases.
Most recently, she has been and will remain the principal optometrist at Walnut Square Optometry. Dr. Sim understands and values the important role of a primary care optometrist in taking care of not just patients’ eyes but their overall health as well.
When Dr. Sim is not taking care of her patients, she loves to travel the world with her husband. She also loves to practice yoga with her friends and to experience some of the many wonders the Bay Area has to offer, such as its many amazing restaurants, cultural events, and nature.
Dr. Jennifer Juang, O.D.
Dr. Jennifer Juang graduated from UC Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree from UC Berkeley School of Optometry. She was fascinated by vision at a young age when she started wearing glasses and has been inspired to help others promote ocular health after witnessing deteriorating vision conditions among family members. During school, she worked as a volunteer to provide free vision screenings to homeless and low-income participants in Berkeley and San Francisco.
Dr. Juang completed her clinical rotations at various sites, including the VA Palo Alto Healthcare System, Castle Family Health Center, Marin and Novato Community Clinics, Highland Hospital in Oakland, and Southeast Health Center in San Francisco. She received extensive training in pediatrics, diabetic screening, glaucoma, and ocular disease. Dr. Juang practices the full scope of optometry, including contact lens fittings and treatment of various eye diseases. She is fluent in Mandarin and Taiwanese and has experience conducting exams in optometric Spanish. She looks forward to providing quality eyecare to her patients.
During her free time, Dr. Juang enjoys being with family and friends, sightseeing, hiking, yoga, and playing piano. She appreciates living in the Bay Area for its cultural diversity.
