DR. Nicole Sim, O.D.
Dr. Nicole Sim attended UC Berkeley for her undergraduate degree in Molecular Cell Biology. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Vision Science. During her undergraduate studies she volunteered at Albany-Berkeley Optometry, working with Dr. Teresa Goldberg, who inspired her to pursue a career in optometry. Dr. Sim graduated from the UC Berkeley School of Optometry, receiving the Dean’s Award for her thesis.
Dr. Sim has diverse experience in the treatment of eye conditions and diseases. She was trained in various clinics such as a retinal specialty clinic, a low income trauma center and a vision training center for children. She has extensive experience in LASIK co-management, primary care optometry and dry eye treatment, along with other ocular diseases. Dr. Sim is the clinical director at Albany-Berkeley Optometry. Dr. Sim understands and values the important role of a primary care optometrist in taking care of not just patients’ eyes but their overall health as well.

When Dr. Sim is not taking care of her patients, she is taking care of her very active toddler boy. She loves to travel the world with her husband and her child. She also loves to practice yoga with her friends and to experience some of the many wonders the Bay Area has to offer, such as its many amazing restaurants, cultural events, and nature.
DR. CRIZELDA LAURON, O.D.
Dr. Crizelda (Crissy) Lauron was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics with minors in Chemistry and Psychology at the University of Miami. She then went on to complete her Doctorate of Optometry from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California.
Her clinical externships included: primary eye care at a military hospital in Fort Belvoir, Virginia, private practices in Southern California, a VA outpatient clinic in The Villages, Florida, and behavioral optometry with a neurodevelopmental specialist in Plano, Texas. She is glaucoma certified and practices full scope optometry. She also learned to speak clinical Spanish during her mission trip to El Salvador. The majority of her early career was spent in ophthalmology in the Bay Area, where she focused on primary care optometry with an emphasis on ocular disease, managing dry eye, contact lens fittings including specialty lenses like scleral and orthokeratology, and implementing myopia control particularly in younger patients. Additionally, she served as Surgical Director in helping manage all surgery patients, pre- and post-operatively. |
Her favorite part about optometry is not only caring for her patients’ ocular health, but also building lifelong relationships with them and their families. Outside of optometry, she has a passion for cooking and all culinary related arts, practicing yoga, and traveling the world with her husband.
DR. MILES SABATINI, O.D.
Dr. Miles Sabatini was born in Michigan and grew up in Southern California where he completed his undergraduate degree in Biology at California State University, Northridge. Following his dreams of becoming an optometrist, he attended UC Berkeley School of Optometry.
Dr. Sabatini is experienced in providing excellent care for patients with a broad spectrum of eye conditions and diseases. Notable clinical experience include various ophthalmology offices, Marin Community Clinics and private practice of optometry throughout the Bay Area. He enjoys fitting patients with specialty and everyday contact lenses, designing myopia control strategies, dry eye management, glaucoma management, and co-managing care for pre and post-operative refractive surgery and cataract surgery. He is driven to provide comprehensive eye care at a high level with a personalized approach to each individual patient. |
In his free time, Dr. Sabatini enjoys hiking, exploring art museums and restaurants around the Bay with his significant other. He also enjoys reading books, playing games with friends, and spending time with his two rescue cats: Mingus and Django.
